Who we are
Cross street workshop was set up by jeweller Laila Smith in 2005 after teaching in art colleges along the south coast.
Laila has been teaching since 1999 and currently runs the teaching studio alongside designing and creating her own collections of jewellery, teaching short courses at West Dean College and drinking copious cups of tea.

Our venue
in 2005 we moved into a 100 yr old building that had been a woodworkers studio from the 1920’s onwards, then it was a French polishers studio for 50 years until we took it on early 2000’s. After 17 years we moved 1 door along the street after a building reshuffle and we are now in our current home.
